Our Story

A small team, starting honestly

CapyOnsen launched into the world in 2026, built by a small European team that also makes CapyFuel, our energy and focus supplement line. If CapyFuel is about starting your day, CapyOnsen is about ending it well — and we mean that literally: onsen is Japanese for hot spring, and this whole brand exists because of one very relaxed animal.

You’ve probably seen the photo: a capybara sitting chest-deep in a steaming hot spring, eyes closed, a yuzu fruit balanced on its head, looking like it invented the concept of not being stressed. It’s become one of the internet’s default images of calm, and it’s the reason for our name and our tagline — unwind like a capybara.

We’re not claiming our products contain actual hot-spring water, and we’re not pretending a capybara consulted on the formula. What we borrowed is the feeling: something that rests completely, without performing it for an audience. That’s the standard we wrote our ritual against.

Why a short ritual, not a wall of bottles

We started from a familiar problem: a bathroom shelf with too many half-finished bottles and an evening too short to use half of them. So the ritual at the centre of CapyOnsen stays short on purpose — an oil-to-milk cleanser, a barrier serum, and a fragrance-free moisturiser, each with exactly one job. No ten-step promise, just a routine you can actually finish, most nights, including the tired ones. We’ve since added a small, curated collection around that core — a gentle exfoliant, a toner, a richer night cream, an eye cream — for the nights or the skin that want a little more. Every addition still has to earn its place next to the original three; we’re not trying to fill a shelf just to look bigger.

Made in the EU, honestly

Our formulas are certified natural or organic, made in Latvia by an established, certified EU cosmetics manufacturer we work with — not a factory we own. We think that’s worth saying plainly: we’re not claiming an exclusive, secret formula, and we’re not pretending to have built our own laboratory in year one. We chose a certified partner with real manufacturing experience so the formulas would be reliably good from the first batch, and we’d rather be upfront about that division of labour than dress it up as more than it is.

CapyOnsen is part of the Avenmark Media portfolio, alongside our sister brand CapyFuel. Avenmark Media is the parent company behind CapyOnsen; it doesn’t manufacture or sell products itself.

Where we’re headed

CapyOnsen starts with skincare, but the longer plan is a small wellness house — eventually including calming, sleep-focused essentials alongside the ritual. The shop is open today with the core ritual and a small expanded collection built around it; our attention now is on doing each of those products properly rather than adding a dozen more just to pad the shelf.
